Although participation in school, district and state conferences and workshops should come first with NMASC schools, those advisers and students who go beyond these gain valuable leadership experiences through participation in the National Association of Student Councils' conferences.

The LEAD - Leadership Experience and Development - conferences are designed to energize and enrich student leaders and advisers while promoting interstate communication, strengthening leadership skills, and preparing those attending for leadership roles at the local, state and regional levels. The 2008 NASC national conference will be hosted June 25-28 in Justin, Texas (Dallas/Ft. Worth area) by Northwest High School. The conference theme is "Hats Off to Leadership."

The national conference brings together nearly 2,000 student leaders and their advisers from all over the United States for a once-in-a-lifetime week of idea sharing, networking, leadership experience and fun.
